Raw Guide
Get your pet’s raw food journey started off on the right paw.
Step one: Trial run
Safety comes first when incorporating new foods into your pet’s diet.
If your pet has shown signs of allergies or is a puppy, we recommend testing the four main proteins to determine sensitivities, likes and dislikes. In order to get clear results, avoid feeding your pet supplements or treats during the trial period. Of course, if you already know your pet is allergic to one of these proteins, skip it and test the others.
While you carry out the trial described in the next section, keep a close eye on your pet and check for the following allergy symptoms:
The four main proteins
Next steps
Once you’ve tested these four proteins, your pet will have a wide variety of blends to safely choose from! If you want to incorporate another protein, such as whole pork or salmon, we just recommend limiting new ingredients to one per week so you can identify the source in case your pet has allergy symptoms.
If your pet has bad allergies and experiences inflammation in their skin, ears, etc., it might be a good idea to feed them only rabbit for at least two weeks. Consult with their vet if you’re concerned about their symptoms.

Food energetics
What traditional medicine can teach us about pet allergy remedies.
The concept of food energetics comes from traditional Chinese medicine. In this theory, different foods are classified as cooling, neutral, warming, hot or super hot, depending on the energy they require to be digested.
We recommend avoiding warming, hot and super hot proteins if your dog has allergies or during the summer. Cooling proteins are best for allergic dogs as they are easily digested, and neutral proteins could be rotated in as well. Below is a short list of pup-friendly ingredients, categorized by energy.
